Let’s face it, who doesn’t love taking pictures in a hotel room, especially these days where hotels are made to look very Instagram friendly. I will be sharing with you my top 5 tips for nailing that perfect hotel photos.
You can imagine my excitement when I stayed in the grandest of hotel suites during London fashion week SS20. Yes, the Apex Temple Court hotel which is only a stone throw away from Strand/ Sommerset house where the heat of fashion week happens.
Besides getting the ever so popular streetsyle shots from the press and paparazzi. I couldn’t resist taking some instagram worthy pictures at the super luxurious Apex Temple court.
- SNAP YOURSELF
You don’t always need a second person to take your pictures for you, although this is nice, if travelling alone it could be tricky. This is why I take along with me my travel-size tripod when I am going away. They are inexpensive to grab from amazon. All you need do is attach it to your phone or camera, use the self timer settings and snap snap snap away. Don’t have a tripod? don’t worry, find a level surface to place your phone, set up your timer and just pose away for that perfect shot. You can see how here.
- BATHROOM SELFIE
If you are a blogger or Instagrammer , take advantage of the marble interiors and great lighting to take pictures of all your beauty products, simply style each shot differently and you will have a great deal of content to share with your followers.

- BEDROOM
‘Good morning, I had the best nights sleep’ -style pictures are very popular especially on instagram. Nailing this type of photo should be easy especially if you have a great window view.My top tip for this is to use natural lighting. You can style this photo by reading a newspaper or holding a cup of coffee or fresh juice, even better is having your breakfast in bed. Styling a bedroom pictures adds ore context and personality to your photo.

- TERRACE AND ENTRANCES
If your hotel has a terrace, with great views, your OOTD (outfit of the day) photos can be taken here. These areas of hotels are very often well lit, with either plenty of natural light or very good artificial lighting. You can choose to keep it simple, cute and casual or as over the top as you like.

- ASK HOTEL STAFF
If you feel like you have ran out of spots in your hotel to take pictures, always feel free to ask a staff, for any photogenic parts of the hotel. You may be surprised at what you may discover. Also hotel staffs are usually friendly and helpful enough to help you with taking your photos, if you are alone, or you have friends and need a group photo.
So, there you go, these are my top tips for nailing that perfect hotel photo that will make your photo album or instagram feed look perfect.
