London fashion week men’s SS18 with Topman, Harrys of London , WAN HUNG, Blood Brothers, Nigel Cabourn and more

The fifth year of London fashion week at its 10th season has kicked off the start to fashion week all around the fashion capitals of the world.

The LFWM logo for this season is the handwriting of world renowned artist Tracey Emin.

I originally only had a special invite to attend the Topman transition SS18 presentation, but along the way, I gained invites to other brands such as Harrys of London, Christopher Raeburn, Nigel Cabourn, Blood brother and Wan Hung. I made new friends along the way, met some influential social media personalities and got invited to the coolest parties like the kTZ closing party.

This is my first ever fashion week season and I can’t wait till the next big season in september. I have left feeling inspired and charged up with ideas on fashion and what to expect next year.

I was able to Vlog  most of my entire journey this season, the video should be going up on my YouTube channel over the next couple of days.

What I wore

Forget the big Fashion blunders and mistakes many men make, I wanted to be comfortable, authentically stylish and stay on trend this season, which I think I achieved.

Shows and presentations

Topman

The topman transition SS18 featured 5 collaborators , 5 short films and a preview of their new collection.

The clothes are made for the fashion savvy guy with a bold ‘I don’t care’ attitude.

The exhibition took place at the old Truman Brewery in shoreditch. Transition was designed by Benni Allan who was inspired by the post industrial nature of the building itself.

Topman is giving a new take on their old classic with this new collection shown through old prints, silhouette and fabric construction.

Harrys of London

The exhibition was designed around a  globetrotting journey from London to Japan. The first part of the journey started in London, shoes were laid on the replica of the millennium wheel with the Iconic London parliament and Big Ben as its backdrop.

The second part takes us into a luxurious private jet, which was absolutely stunningly adorned with Pastel shades of luggage and bags from the new SS18 collection.

The final destination is Japan. The intricate beauty of a Japanese back garden was brought to life with waterfalls, rocks and of course the Japanese cherry blossom.

This collection is one to definitely look forward to next SS18.

Nigel coubourn

The Nigel Cabourn army was out in full force. Cabourn draws inspiration from the Vietnam military. I loved how he interacted with his guests and made sure it was an experience for everyone. The collection is simple and functional and captivating. If you like a rugged, relaxed and easy military look or a fan of khaki, linen and cotton fabrics then this collection is certainly one not to be missed.

WAN HUNG

WAN HUNG presentation was inspired by today’s fitness and gym culture. Designed for the modern man who would rise up in the morning for a work out session and head to work straight after. The suits have been made from sporty  technical fabric, so it is an easy transition from active wear to smart wear.

Blood Brother

Blood brother incorporated old school technology such as box Tv screens and PCs . The message was simply about the risk of our climate due to global warming  and natural resources going extinct. Just like the old school technology has gone extinct, so could our natural environment if we didn’t do anything about it.

Printed T-shirts, Hoodies, and patent croc skin jackets and trench coats were among what is expected to hit the stores SS18.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, I have vlogged my entire experience and it should be live on my YouTube channel Howeydon over the next couple of days.
